Escaping lockdown
It was a big decision as to whether to open our escape room in Salisbury, Spectre on Castle Street at the start of August. There had been much discussion in the industry as to when was the right time.
Thanks to the way our room is laid out and the unique way in which it starts, Spectre lent itself well to the COVID measures we had to put in place before welcoming back teams.
The ‘new normal’
The day we reopened the booking calendar was a nervous one. Will people want to come and play? There was still an uneasiness about venturing out into public spaces again. However August meant it was still the school holidays and after months of not being able to venture outside, it seemed families were keen to experience normality again and we were almost as busy as 2019!
Charlie and I would like to thank everyone for supporting us. Whether you played our online game POD over Zoom during lockdown, or booked with us as soon as we opened at our escape room in Salisbury – we can’t thank you enough.
What about the next room?
We’ve been talking about it for a while now. It’s almost embarrassing to think how long it has been since we first mentioned the theme for our new escape room, Compendium. We have been on the lookout for premises in Salisbury for what seems to be years now and we may just have found the perfect one.
Charlie has designed and built a lot of the games for our retro board game inspired room, finding the right site to put it is a puzzle in itself. We would love to say it will be ready by Christmas, all I can say is watch this space, but in the meantime, here are a few sneaky photos of what will be Live Escape Salisbury’s new escape room experience.
